The startup Menlo79, founded by former managers of Deutsche Bahn, has set itself the task of rethinking rail and logistics.
With their RAILTALKS format, they are creating a community all about the future of the rail, which brings together innovation leaders in the german railway industry.
WILSON. is their intelligent software solution for live scheduling of operational staff with the assistance of AI.
The biggest challenge was to bring the two worlds, the company Menlo79 on one side and the product WILSON. on the other, together under one roof since the company name Menlo79 is well known in the german railway industry but the main focus for the website had to be the product.
The WILSON. logo was used with the addition "A product of Menlo79" and the Menlo79 logo was added to the footer. In addition to a very product-focused homepage and solution pages, several company sub pages were designed.
In a first step wireframes were created to test and agree on general directions and to clarify content blocks and fix the structure of the website.
The existing design system was simplified and the greyscale adjusted to create a consistent dark scheme with a slight blue shine on the grey tones.
In terms of typography, the highly legible slab serif Bitter was added as a headline font to freshen things up and create a unique atmosphere that fits the WILSON. story of William Wilson, who drove the first German train in 1835.
